2012 Art Ed Blog of the Year – Voting Open!

WOW! As a result of our Call for Nominations for the 2nd Annual Art Ed Blog of the Year Awards, our email inbox was flooded with nominations as well as over 145 comments on our Nominations page. There were so many great blogs nominated, including some new up-and-coming sites that you should really check out.
The committee reviewed the nominations in the categories of Quality of Content and Photos, Consistency in Posting, Community Interaction, Overall Look and Feel, and Value Provided to their Audience. We encourage you to browse all of the Top 20 Finalists before you vote. The decision was really, really hard, and there were so many deserving blogs that were not selected as finalists. We are happy to share this year’s lineup includes a little something for everyone, including more resources for middle and secondary art teachers, and a variety of teaching approaches represented.
Today we are thrilled to announce the following 20 finalists for Art Ed Blog of the Year!
Voting takes place between December 9th and 14th. The Top 10 will be selected by, of course, YOUR or votes! Be sure to visit all of the blogs by clicking on their linked headers above, make your choice(s), and then vote in the Poll below. Finalist bloggers are encouraged to share the ballot link with their own readership so there are as many voters represented as possible! Voters, yes, you can vote for multiple blogs when you place your vote (give to your love to lots of blogs or put your eggs all in one basket)!
Why wait? Vote for your favorite(s) today!
Shorty after voting closes (at Midnight on Friday, December 14th) we’ll announce the winners. You will be notified if your blog is one of the Top 10 Winners. The Top 10 blogs will all receive a unique Award Badge which they can proudly post in the side column or other prominent location on their blog! In addition to the badge, award winners will be promoted with a permanent space on the AOE Blog, be featured in the Blogging for Art Educators online class, and get kudos in our Weekly Newsletter.
Be sure to forward this link to all of your teacher friends so they can discover these 20 great Art Blogs, and they can vote as well. This is a amazing opportunity to give these blogs credit and even send them some new Art Teacher readers!
Why did you vote for the blog you did? Let everyone know in the comments!
What new blogs are you discovering, or what “Ah Ha” moments are you having through this process?
Best of luck to everyone!
