Pre-Made Sketchbook Pages Download

A year ago on AOE I showed you how to make Sketchbooks on the Cheap with your students, using simple materials like a pencil, old paintbrush, rubber band and hole punched pages.  These sketchbooks contained blank pages ONLY which were to be used as the teacher/student wished.

This year, we’ve modified the sketchbook pages to incorporate practice activities that relate to the Standards being taught. Each page might have a simple drawing activity, practice space or extra exposure to the concept at hand. These will be great to introduce the lesson or even for students to work on as they finish the lesson. Here are some samples of the pages and prompts we’ve added.

Download the entire PDF with more pages to print and use as you please!! Enjoy!

What are other sketchbook  prompts you use with students?

Psssttt!! Check out the new “Jessica Recommends” section on the side of the blog.  Here are some of my favorite posts in case you missed them along the way!

Do you do this just for 5th graders or other grades as well? I did a version of the blank sketchbooks with 5th and 6th last year but have been toying with the idea of expanding it down a few grades.
    Thanks!

      Suann,
I just do this for 5th grade right now. I hope to expand in the future, but I like to take new things in baby steps so I don’t have a complete overhaul if I don’t like the way it is. Our district art teachers worked together on this idea. I think it can work for any upper grade.

Love this! I’ve been trying to come up with some ideas of how to make cheap sketch books for my 4/5th graders… something for them to work on after they finish up a proj, as free time for them is boring…well some of the 5th and 4th anyway, and I really need to occupy them in an art way! Thanks for the idea… I really appreciate all you do:)

The file is a PDF, so should work universally on any computer. It just worked when I tried it.
How about trying to get it using this link?
