You Asked: Planning Matrix

You Asked: I Answered!

So many of you have contacted me wanting copies of my K-5 Planning Matrixes for looking at your entire year at a glance, after I posted about my curriculum here. I decided to celebrate the beginning of October, (one of my favorite months!) by sharing them with all of you! I simply added these matrixes to my “Lessons” page for you to easily download.

I am excited for the month of October on The ART of Education! Lots of new lesson plans for you to download, assessment conversation, (report cards are coming up!) and great product reviews are on the way!

    Do you have the same grid for every grade? Or do the Elements change from year to year? Do you plan art history around these? Did you collaborate with other teachers in your district to come up with this?
    
    I have never mapped out my year this way and was just looking at other ways of organizing it. Thanks!

      We have a different matrix for each grade! The elements are pretty much the same, but we have some differences in Power Standards, so each grade gets their own matrix. Each one builds as the K-5 experience moves along to become more challenging each year. We created the curriculum in our district as an art department, and I facilitate the group to help implement curriculum and do PD! Hope it helps!
