Give ‘Em a Squirt
Do you hate it when the tables get cleaned off but are still so wet, when your next class walks in, they set their nice dry art onto a wet table? I do!
One really efficient way to get tables cleaned with minimal mess, movement and wetness is by simply giving the students a “Squirt” of soap and water directly onto their table.

Then, the students simply grab one dry paper towel and wipe it dry. It gets the paint and grime off the tables, but doesn’t use so much water that one paper towel per student can’t take care of the wetness. Additionally, to save a tree, you can use cloth towels, if you school provides a washing service for these, which mine does. I switch off between the two types of towels depending upon what kind of mess I am dealing with.
This system is by far the easiest, and least messy, and can literally get done in 3 minutes. I usually run the squirt bottle myself, to avoid any students mis-using the privilege, but you could always appoint a responsible student to squirt down tables as well.
Want clean tables fast? Just “Give ‘Em a Squirt!”
